Letters

ABC learning games for preschoolers

In ABC Garden, a busy bee holds up a letter and your child taps the flower that has it. It starts with letters young children meet first, like A, B, M and S, and keeps look-alikes such as B and P apart until your child is ready.

The game

Four steps through the alphabet

Gentle by design

A wrong flower just wiggles: no buzzer, no “wrong”. The letter is said once per round, and you can switch the voice off for quiet places. Every finished round earns a sticker.

Free to try, no sign-up. Works on any phone, tablet or computer.

Questions from parents

Does it teach letter sounds (phonics)?

It teaches letter names, recognising letters and first letters of words. Letter sounds are on our list for a later update.

Does it really work with no wifi?

Yes. Open it once on wifi and everything is stored on the device: about 100 KB, smaller than a single photo. After that every game works in airplane mode, in the car or anywhere without a signal. The grown-ups screen shows "Ready for offline ✓" when it is.

Are there ads or in-app purchases?

No ads, ever, and nothing a child can buy. Unlocking is done by a grown-up in the locked grown-ups area, once, with no subscription.

Can my child leave the game by accident?

Leaving a game needs a long press on the home button, and the grown-ups area needs a 2-second hold plus tapping 1, 2, 3. Most phones and tablets can also pin an app to the screen in their settings (often called screen pinning or guided access).
